From taking in the breath taking views at Mt Ainslie Lookout, to discovering fascinating stories at the National Museum of Australia, there was plenty to see and learn. The adventure continued at the beautiful National Arboretum, followed by a visit to the National Zoo & Aquarium, where students enjoyed getting up close to Australia’s wildlife.

The Year 9 students kicked off their Civics and Citizenship Tour with an exciting sightseeing tour around Sydney, visiting iconic landmarks including the Opera House, Harbour Bridge, Mrs Macquarie’s Point and Gap Bluff. Enjoying the beautiful spring weather, they made the most of their time at Bondi Beach before travelling by coach to Canberra, where the day wrapped up with a fun-filled game of ten pin bowling. ... Our students are putting their creativity to work, writing and illustrating their own stories in just one day, while raising money for the Kid's Cancer Project. The books themselves go to a digital library that kids can access during long stays in hospital.
Students use their creative problem solving and narrative skill to craft stories around tricky combinations such as a plumber and a crab who have to run a marathon, or an art teacher and a pizza delivery person who have to manage a bushfire.
The event is a great opportunity for students who love both creative writing and illustrating to flex their creative muscles and use their passion for a noble cause. ... See MoreSee Less
