Years 7 to 10

In year 7, students participate in a term long program covering painting and drawing.

In year 8-10, students participate in a semester long programme covering drawing, design and painting. Often art projects include more than one studio area, involving the development of a diverse range of skills. Art history and criticism are part of their studies, which are integrated into practical work.

Years 11 and 12

Visual Arts is offered as a General course in Year 11 and 12. In the Visual Arts course, students engage in traditional, modern and contemporary media and techniques within the broad areas of art forms. The course promotes innovative practice. Students are encouraged to explore and represent their ideas and gain an awareness of the role that artists and designers play in reflecting, challenging and shaping societal values. Students are encouraged to appreciate the work of other artists and engage in their own art practice.
